FairPoker Review

3.5

Rating

FairPoker.com is one of the better online poker sites available today. While it can't really compete with the likes of NoblePoker or EmpirePoker, it stands out above many of the others. The reason? Game selection.

The first time we logged on to the site, there were over 7,000 players playing at over 660 tables, and most of them were cash game players. There were also over 290 tournaments running at the same time. FairPoker knows how to attract a crowd.

Fairpoker also offers a generous buy-in bonus. Payment of this bonus is based on the "coins system". For every raked hand you play, you are awarded a certain number of coins. For every 500 coins, you receive a $10 bonus in your account. This continues until your bonus has been paid. We found that to be a nice feature.

(Note: This poker room does not allow U.S. players)

Customer Service and Support

We emailed customer service two times during our disconnects, and the response time varies from 1 hour to seven hours. Not what you might expect from a site that attracts a good number of players. But we feel that more testing of customer support is necessary to give a more accurate report.

Aside from our disconnect issues, we found our experience at FairPoker to be enjoyable and profitable. And while FairPoker is not among our top choices for online poker, it ranks high enough to be considered playable.

Player Loyalty Program

All players start at Silver level VIP. As they earn coins, they move up the ladder to Gold (averaging 3,500 coins per month) and finally Platinum VIP (earning an average of 7,500 coins per month). Each level of VIP earns coins at a faster rate.

At this time, Fair Poker coins are only used to clear buy-in and deposit bonuses. For every 500 coins a player earns, $10 will be released in any pending bonus into his or her account.

More About FairPoker

Poker Software

The FairPoker software is standard for the industry. The graphics are smooth and there are no excessive features to slow down the games. The buttons are all in fairly intuitive places, and after a few hands, a player will have no trouble using this software.

We did experience one disconnect while playing at FairPoker, but other than that isolated incident, the software performed fine.

Games and Limits

The game selection is what gives FairPoker its 3.5-star rating. They offer all games including Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha/8, 7-Card Stud and even the classic 5-Card Stud. The available stakes in the limit games range from $.02/$.04 to $200/$400, and the no-limit and pot-limit games go from $.02/$.04 to $100/$200. We found players at most games an levels, although not a lot of players were playing the very high limits.

FairPoker also has a selection of play money tables and games, but not a lot of people were playing them.
