If you’re a poker player from the United Kingdom or Europe and you aren’t at the London Poker Festival, what on earth are you doing? Sponsored by Bluff Europe, the month-long festival is well on its way to being a roaring success.
If you’re only just hearing about it, and want to get in on the action, don’t worry because there’s still two thirds of the month to go. The festival is being held in eight of the most prominent poker rooms the city has to offer. They include the Grosvenor Victoria Casino, the Fox Poker Club, Aspers Casino, Casino at the Empire and the Genting Casino.
The most noteworthy event coming up happens on Thursday. The Unibet Open on September 13. It will a feature a £1,500 Main Event, and will be held at Aspers Casino up until September 17.
You could also catch the £200 Heads Up tournament occurring at the same time. Intriguingly, the tournament is to be an experiment at the London Poker Festival, which will use the format more often seen in chess tournaments.
Then look forward to the £2,000 buy in English Poker Open, taking place from September 18 – September 22. The setting will be the Fox Poker Club, and the Open is expected to bring Europe’s finest out in force to determine the champion.
Or perhaps you have more interest in the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour happening at “The Vic”. It’s an £1,000 buy-in tournament. Expect this one between September 20 until its conclusion on September 23rd.
This is just the half of it. And while the games will be intense, the players will have the chance to let loose and enjoy the entertainment which includes a great roster of comedians, as well as other activities. In other words, the 2012 festival is unmissable.
